These terms apply whenever you use tomica.toys. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please stop using the site.
1. What this site is
tomica.toys is a free, independent reference database of Tomica die-cast models, plus a small set of collecting tools. It is produced by collectors for collectors. It is not an official Takara Tomy website and is not affiliated with, authorised by, endorsed by or connected to TAKARA TOMY or any of its subsidiaries. TOMICA, TOMICA PREMIUM, TOMICA LIMITED VINTAGE and DREAM TOMICA are trademarks of TAKARA TOMY and are used here only to identify the products described.
2. Accuracy — and its limits
Model data is compiled by hand from public sources — Takara Tomy's own product pages, community databases and wikis, retailer and hobby shop listings, and public vehicle references — then cross-checked. Even so:
- Tomica numbers are recycled: a single number can belong to several different cars over the years.
- Release dates differ between regions, and re-releases are often unrecorded.
- Older records are incomplete, and there is no complete public historical list to check against.
Where a value cannot be confirmed the page says so instead of guessing. Always confirm details — especially price, stock and variant — on the retailer or manufacturer page before buying. The database is provided on a best-effort basis, “as is”, without warranty of any kind.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, mirror or bulk-download the site in a way that degrades it for other visitors.
- Use the content to build a competing dataset that is republished wholesale without attribution.
- Attempt to breach security, inject code, or interfere with the site's operation.
- Use the site for anything unlawful, or to infringe someone else's rights.
Reasonable personal and non-commercial use — looking things up, sharing a link, quoting a fact with a link back — is exactly what the site is for.
4. Intellectual property
The compilation, text, layout and illustrations on tomica.toys are ours. Trademarks, vehicle designs, character artwork and brand names belong to their respective owners and appear only to identify the products described. Photography, where used, is freely licensed imagery of the real vehicle credited to its author with the licence shown — it is not photography of the toy and implies no endorsement. We do not reproduce Takara Tomy product photography, packaging artwork or licensed character art. If you own rights in something published here, see the DMCA & image credits page and email service@tomica.toys.
5. Things you send us
If you email a correction, a photograph or a suggestion, you grant us permission to use it to improve the site, including publishing it with attribution where appropriate. You confirm you have the right to send it. We will not publish your email address or other contact details.
6. Advertising, affiliate and third-party links
The site is free to use and funded by advertising. We intend to display ads served by Google AdSense and Adsterra; these partners may set cookies and use device information to serve ads, and you can opt out of personalised advertising as described in the Privacy Policy. Some outbound links to marketplaces are affiliate links and are marked sponsored: if you buy through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Advertising and affiliate relationships never change what we list or how we rank models. We do not control third-party sites and are not responsible for their content, pricing, availability or privacy practices.
7. The collecting tools
The model finder, variant compare, collection checklist and display case finder are provided as-is. Your checklist is stored in your own browser and is not backed up by us — clearing your browser data deletes it. Collection codes and share images are generated on your device and contain only model numbers.
8. Safety
Tomica is intended for children aged 3 and over. Small parts present a choking hazard for younger children. Check the packaging and follow the manufacturer's age guidance.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from use of this site, or from reliance on information published on it — including buying decisions, valuations, or loss of data stored in your browser. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Availability and changes
We may change, suspend or remove any part of the site at any time, and we may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed; continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the operator's place of establishment, without prejudice to any consumer rights you have under the mandatory law of your own country of residence.
