Tomica series
Tomica is not one line but several. The regular numbered line is what most people mean by "Tomica", but the collector lines — Premium, Limited Vintage and Reborn — use completely different numbering and pricing.
Tomica Regular (No. 1 – No. 120)
The main Tomica line. Around 120 numbers are active at any time, and Takara Tomy swaps the vehicle behind a number every few years. Most models have working suspension and opening parts.

Tomica Limited Vintage (TLV) is the 1/64 collector line for people who grew up with Tomica and now want museum-grade replicas. Every casting recreates a real Japanese car from the 1950s to the 1990s with period-correct details: separate indicators, accurate badges, era-correct colours and even licence plates. Regular Tomica fits in your pocket; TLV sits in a display case. Models are numbered LV-N (standard cars), LV-V (vans) and LV-Ne (Neo, post-1990 cars), and are sold mainly through hobby shops and Tomica shops rather than supermarkets.
Tomica Black Box (黒箱 gift sets)
"Black Box" Tomica (黒箱, kurobako) is the collector nickname for Tomica gift sets sold in distinctive black packaging — anniversary sets, Tokyo Toy Show exclusives and store-limited boxes. Each box bundles several models, often with tampos, liveries or castings you cannot buy separately, which is why sealed black boxes are a lively second-hand market of their own. If you are hunting a specific black box set, check the release month pages for the models inside it.
Tomica Premium Unlimited
A Premium sub-line for vehicles from movies, anime and games rather than real production cars.
Tomica Reborn
Tomica Reborn remakes classic Tomica castings from the 1970s and 1980s using modern tooling.
